			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>There are any number of &quot;fast diets&quot; out there for when you want to lose weight fast, but as you&#8217;ve probably already learned, most (if not all) of them are unhealthy and possibly even dangerous. Further, when you lose a few pounds using them (instead of a healthy, moderately paced weight loss plan) you almost always tend to put the weight back on. There&#8217;s nothing &quot;long term&quot; about a fast weight loss diet. These type diets aren&#8217;t meant to be used for long-haul fat loss maintenance. They are simply &quot;quick fixes&quot; intended for those who only need to lose a few pounds.</p>
<p>This is why you will often hear these types of diets referred to as &quot;fad diets.&quot; A few examples of fad diets are: the Cabbage Soup diet, the 3-Day diet, the 7-Day diet, the Grapefruit diet, the Atkins diet, and there are many, many more. None of these, however, are meant to be used long-term for losing weight. In fact, continuing either of them could produce serious health problems later on, like: dehydration and loss of muscle. There are more possible risks, but this article isn&#8217;t about scaring anyone. Instead, we&#8217;ll talk about when using a &quot;fast diet&quot; can be O.K..</p>
<p>Before we get to it, however, let me say that using fast diets to lose weight fast should be undertaken for short-term quick weight loss only under the guidance of a qualified physician  of which I am not. Always consult with your doctor first. Now, with that said, the only time a fast diet might be okay is when you&#8217;ve got less than ten pounds to lose (preferably no more than 5 to 7 pounds)  and you&#8217;ll be going back to a nutritionally sound, healthy diet and exercise plan immediately after losing the weight.</p>
<p>Here are some tips for staying healthy while dieting:</p>
<p>1. Drink lots of water. There are no calories in water, and your body needs plenty of fluids to properly burn off fat anyway, so you&#8217;ll agree this kinda makes sense.</p>
<p>2. Drink an 8 ounce glass of water before you eat. You&#8217;ll feel full faster, and won&#8217;t want to eat as much food.</p>
<p>3. Use a small plate and eat slowly. You&#8217;ll feel full faster and won&#8217;t eat as much.</p>
<p>4. Be active. Inactivity doesn&#8217;t help burn fat or calories, so get up off the couch and go outside for a walk, or jog. It doesn&#8217;t take a lot of stressful exercise to burn extra calories, but activity is required.</p>
<p>A final bit of advice before you go: remember that fast diets are not meant to be used for a long time. It&#8217;s better to eat right and exercise than put yourself in a position of wanting or needing to lose weight fast. If you need to lose three pounds before prom, or your brother&#8217;s niece&#8217;s wedding, maybe. But for long term weight loss (if you plan to keep off the weight you lose) fast weight loss diets are too stressful on the body to keep up  and may seriously jeopardize your health.</p>

<p>Cardiovascular exercise consists of walking or running on a treadmill, using a stair climber, elliptical machine or stationary bike and getting your heart rate up to a maximum level and sustaining that rate for 20 to 30 minutes. Cardiovascular exercises will strengthen your heart and lungs and increase your stamina.</p>
<p>When looking for exercise plans for quick weight loss another aspect is strength training. Strength training consists of using exercise machines and free weights either at home or in a gym. The best way to tell if you are doing the exercises correctly is to have someone watch you while you do a set to make sure your form is correct. Incorrect form can cause injuries and nobody wants to be in pain.</p>
<p>when you know that your form is correct, choose a weight that is comfortable and do your sets slow and controlled. Never bounce or fling the weight up and down, slow and controlled is the way to go if you want maximum results. Also there is a new theory that states if you just do one set with heavier weights and work your muscles to fatigue, (which means you could not do one more rep even if you wanted to), you will get even faster results.</p>
<p>I know you have probably tried every diet known to man and keep wondering what you are doing wrong. You lose a little here and there but it never stays off, you just can&#8217;t stay on those diets. You gain everything you lost back again and may even gain more weight.</p>
<p>You need to stop jumping on every new fad diet that comes down the pike, they will never work. What does work, however is managing your diet, paying attention to what it is you are putting in your mouth and getting regular exercise. Make it a routine. Make an appointment with yourself everyday at the same time and do not stand yourself up. Treat your workout appointment just like you would your doctor&#8217;s appointment. You wouldn&#8217;t miss that would you? No, you wouldn&#8217;t and you cannot afford to miss your workout either.</p>
<p>Your diet should be full of lean meats, fish, fresh fruits and vegetables. Stay away from high carbohydrate foods like bread and potatoes. Learn new, healthy ways to cook. Learn how to read the labels of the foods that you buy at the grocery store. Make sure that the fat percentage to the calories is no more than 30%. Combining diet and looking for exercise plans for quick weight loss is the way to lose those extra pounds forever.</p>

The reality of the situation is that if you have a significant amount of weight to lose then it will take some time to get it off and keep it off.</p>
<p>Dedication, perseverance and learning to change the way you live your life. If you are over weight then you undoubtedly do not get enough exercise and do not eat right. Here is where you need to start. Either take in fewer calories over the course of the day or get up and get moving. Even just a little bit. Get off your duff and take a walk around the block. The first one may be a little tough but the more you do it the better it will be.</p>
<p>You probably will not be able to go for a thirty minute walk right off the bat so you will have to work up to that. Ask a friend to go with you so you do not have to do this all by yourself. Most likely your friend can use a little more exercise herself so you will be killing two birds with one stone.</p>
<p>The other side of the equation is to eat healthier and watch portion sizes. I know someone who lost 25 pounds in 6 months just by cutting her portion sizes in half. Another way to lose weight kinda fast is to cut out the pop you drink. Did you know if you stop drinking pop you can lose 38 pounds in a year without doing anything else? That&#8217;s right no extra exercise or futzing with your diet, just 38 pounds gone by just quitting the pop. Find yourself a good sparkling mineral water (without all the flavorings and artificial sweeteners, that&#8217;s a whole other article.)</p>
<p>Once you start losing the weight the best way to keep it off is to get yourself into a maintenance mode of working out. By this time you should have your routine down to a science and know what it takes to get a good work out. You know the level of intensity you need. You know what you need to do and you are doing it day in and day out. The old way of eating is a thing of the past and you look better than you have in years. </p>
<p>There are so many recipes out there you do not have to try to come up with anything new to cook. If you want to stay away from carbs, go to the library and take out a book about reducing the amount of carbs you take in in a day. It really is not that hard to do. The experts say to stay away from all the white stuff, white sugar, white flour, white rice. So what do you do if your recipe calls for white rice? either use the brown rice or substitute mashed up seasoned cauliflower, looks just like white rice and is much better for you.</p>

<p>Quick weight loss diets are everywhere. The first thing you need to ask yourself is, are they safe? Some diet plans can do a lot more harm than good. Fad diets such as the grapefruit diet for example, may work only up to a point. When you have lost the weight and the diet is done, you go back to the same way of eating and what happens? The weight comes back and if you are not careful you may just add on a few more pounds in the process.</p>
<p>If you only have a few pounds to lose then by all means try one of the many quick weight loss diets available. But, if you have a lot of weight to lose you will need to make some lifestyle changes to get to your ideal weight. </p>
<p>Take a minute to write down your weight loss goals. Keeping track of what you eat in a journal will let you see what you are putting in your body every day so if it needs to be changed you can change it. Writing about what can a quick weight loss diet do for me in a journal everyday is very effective in helping you lose the weight.</p>
<p>Do yourself a favor, learn about food. Stop eating just to eat. Eat to live. When you figure out how many calories are in what you eat you will be able to put meals together that are nutritionally balanced and satisfying. Knowing what the right numbers are helps a lot.</p>
<p>You can figure out how many calories you need in a day by calculating your basal metabolic rate, or BMR, or you can simply make up a meal plan that has enough food to equal 1500 calories or so.</p>
<p>Learning to eat differently may take some practice and careful planning. You need to eat five small meals throughout your day. With some precise planning, and an insulated lunch bag, you can manage to do this very well. Save your wallet and your waistline by buying an insulated lunch box, or bag and healthy food to put in it. </p>
<p>Now you need to figure out what to put in it. Well, how about a 6 ounce container of yogurt and some carrot sticks. With an 8 ounce glass of water that is a great snack for the middle of the morning. For your lunch, why not have a sandwich made of lean turkey breast with some light mayo and lettuce and a cup of grapes or some baked chips. Don&#8217;t forget the pickle on the side! There are a lot of things you can do to make sure you eat small meals throughout your day. </p>
<p>There are countless combinations of foods for snacks and meals. Get creative, try some new things, you might find you have a broader range of foods you like therefore giving yourself even more options. Do not forget to pack enough food for two snacks, one in the morning and one in the afternoon.</p>
<p>Do your best to drink enough water during the day, too. A good way to figure out how much you should drink is divide what you weigh by half and drink that amount in ounces of water everyday. Or you can start by striving to drink 8 &#8211; 8 ounce glasses of water each day. It is just easier that way.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>There are any number of &#8220;fast diets&#8221; out there for when you want to lose weight fast, but as you&#8217;ve probably already learned, most (if not all) of them are unhealthy and possibly even dangerous. Further, when you lose a few pounds using them (instead of a healthy, moderately paced weight loss plan) you almost always tend to put the weight back on. There&#8217;s nothing &#8220;long term&#8221; about a fast weight loss diet. These type diets aren&#8217;t meant to be used for long-haul fat loss maintenance. They are simply &#8220;quick fixes&#8221; intended for those who only need to lose a few pounds.</p>
<p>This is why you will often hear these types of diets referred to as &#8220;fad diets.&#8221; A few examples of fad diets are: the Cabbage Soup diet, the 3-Day diet, the 7-Day diet, the Grapefruit diet, the Atkins diet, and there are many, many more. None of these, however, are meant to be used long-term for losing weight. In fact, continuing either of them could produce serious health problems later on, like: dehydration and loss of muscle. There are more possible risks, but this article isn&#8217;t about scaring anyone. Instead, we&#8217;ll talk about when using a &#8220;fast diet&#8221; can be O.K..</p>
<p>Before we get to it, however, let me say that using fast diets to lose weight fast should be undertaken for short-term quick weight loss only under the guidance of a qualified physician  of which I am not. Always consult with your doctor first. Now, with that said, the only time a fast diet might be okay is when you&#8217;ve got less than ten pounds to lose (preferably no more than 5 to 7 pounds)  and you&#8217;ll be going back to a nutritionally sound, healthy diet and exercise plan immediately after losing the weight.</p>
<p>Here are some tips for staying healthy while dieting:</p>
<p>1. Drink lots of water. There are no calories in water, and your body needs plenty of fluids to properly burn off fat anyway, so you&#8217;ll agree this kinda makes sense.</p>
<p>2. Drink an 8 ounce glass of water before you eat. You&#8217;ll feel full faster, and won&#8217;t want to eat as much food.</p>
<p>3. Use a small plate and eat slowly. You&#8217;ll feel full faster and won&#8217;t eat as much.</p>
<p>4. Be active. Inactivity doesn&#8217;t help burn fat or calories, so get up off the couch and go outside for a walk, or jog. It doesn&#8217;t take a lot of stressful exercise to burn extra calories, but activity is required.</p>
<p>A final bit of advice before you go: remember that fast diets are not meant to be used for a long time. It&#8217;s better to eat right and exercise than put yourself in a position of wanting or needing to lose weight fast. If you need to lose three pounds before prom, or your brother&#8217;s niece&#8217;s wedding, maybe. But for long term weight loss (if you plan to keep off the weight you lose) fast weight loss diets are too stressful on the body to keep up  and may seriously jeopardize your health.</p>
