If you want to track your weight loss progress taking a series of exercise pictures is a fantastic way to do it. These pictures can help keep you motivated and just give you bragging rights after you’ve accomplished your weight loss goals.

But in order to get the most out of your pictures it’s important to note that there are some steps you should take first so they are clear and highlight the muscle tone you have achieved.

Here is a list of some things to keep in mind before you start snapping those pictures:

1. To highlight the muscles, and their tone, remove all body hair. You can shave or wax, but if you have too much hair you won’t be able to see muscle tone in a picture.

2. Take your pictures before you eat. That way you don’t make yourself look bigger because your stomach is full.

3. Rubbing your skin with oil prior to the picture will highlight your muscles.

4. Doing a little exercise before you snap the picture will get your blood pumping into your muscles which will highlight them and make them ‘bulge’.

5. Suck it in. Stand up straight and suck in your stomach. Also make sure to tense your muscles. And don’t forget to smile…this isn’t as easy as it looks, is it?

6. Have your lighting from the top, that will add shadows to your muscles and provide contrast.

7. Stay away from using a flash. Keep the light constant.

8. Take some time to practice to get the effect you are looking for.

9. Always try to take the picture at the same time of the day and make sure you are wearing the exact same thing, preferably a bathing suit that shows a lot of your body.

There you have it, some simple tips to make your exercise pictures something you can be proud of. Good pictures can really help you in your weight loss efforts. Go for it.

Many people prefer the comfort of their own home when it comes to working out. And who can blame them? They can workout whenever they want and they can wear whatever they’re comfortable in. One essential piece of equipment is the life fitness exercise bike which can provide you with a great cardio workout.

Exercise bikes are one of the preferred pieces of cardio equipment both for home use and at health clubs. Picking out the best, top notch model for your home exercise needs is as easy as reading the rest of this article!

When it comes to exercise bikes you have two choices: the traditional upright bike and the recumbent bike. The traditional style is just like the bike you’d ride down the street, except it doesn’t have any wheels.

The recumbent style allows you to sit more upright without having to lean over the handle bars. Either style can provide with with a great cardio workout.

The Life Fitness Exercise Bike are rated highly by many exercise professionals. While features vary somewhat from one model to another, here are some of the most common features:

1. Many of these exercise bikes have up to twenty different resistance levels. That means that as you get in better shape you can continue to challenge yourself. This is important because you don’t want to outgrow any exercise bike you purchase. No matter how fit you get you want to make sure you can get a good workout from your exercise bike.

2. An integrated heart rate monitor. This very important piece of equipment will help you stay within your target heart range. If you are under the target range you are not working hard enough to get an effective workout. If you are over your heart range you are working too hard. That won’t get you better results but it could get you in to trouble.

3. Pre-programmed workouts. This will allow you to choose different workouts so your routine doesn’t get boring and so your body is constantly challenged.

4. All of these bikes are solidly built and can support up to 400lbs.

5. A top notch warranty.

So, if you’re thinking about buying a Life Fitness Exercise Bike just know that you are making a wise decision. These are top quality pieces of exercise equipment than can last virtually a lifetime.

Losing weight doesn’t have to be a difficult process. Just follow a few general guidelines and you will be headed to a slimmer, healthier you.

Exercise: Thousands of years ago, if you wanted to eat, you had to go out and hunt or gather your food. Exercise was inherent in eating. Now, drive-thru’s make it possible to stay in your car and eat a 2,000 calorie meal. Be sure to get at least 20 minutes of exercise each and every day in order to keep your metabolism up, burn a few calories and maintain muscle mass.

Hydration: Staying properly hydrated is a large part in staying healthy and fit. As a rule of thumb, you should be drinking at least eight 8-ounce glasses of water per day. Stay away from sodas and alcoholic beverages since they contain empty calories and will actually dehydrate you.

Motivation: Don’t lose motivation by comparing yourself to all the slender people at the gym. Focus on your own goals and use others as inspiration to keep you motivated.

Supplementation: When hitting plateaus, using weight loss supplements in conjunction with proper diet and exercise, can help give you that edge needed to lose those stubborn pounds of fat. Start out with a more mild supplement, since some can be overwhelming. Be sure to read weight loss supplement reviews before buying anything.

Diet: The most important part of a weight loss diet is to pick something that is tolerable. Pick something that you absolutely can’t tolerate and you will default back to your old poor eating habits in no time.

Consistency: Going through spurts of rapid weight loss is not sustainable. Don’t over-extend yourself by going on a crash diet that is only designed to make you lost 10 pounds in two weeks. If you successfully complete the two weeks, what happens next? You go back to your unhealthy habbits? The goal should be making lifestyle choices that promote a healthy weight.

It’s not complicated to get in shape. In fact, it should be just the opposite.
Unless you are a marathon you don’t need to push yourself to hard when you do your exercise fitness workout. Make sure you get your hearrtbeat going by doing something that makes you sweat.

Bike Riding

It’s a fact most people have not been on a bicycle since they were kids. However, biking is a great exercise fitness workout. Plus, it’s a very freeing feeling as you’re riding with the wind blowing through your hair. Your legs are pumping, your heart’s going and you’re getting a great workout all at the same time. Go out and buy a bike and get started doing some workout. It doesn’t even feel like a workout because it’s so much fun yet it’s a great workout all the same.

Sports

If you’re an adult who’s looking to get in shape, start looking for a local amateur sports league where you can join up. Playing soccer, football, basketball or softball is a great workout that’s also a lot of fun. The good thing is that you get new friends and you also improve your health. Don’t worry if your not doing well, you’ll will still have a good time and develop new skills you never thought was possible.

Walking

If your out of shape and the mentioned activities is to hard to handle, walking is still a great alternative. A good habit is walking around the block after a meal, soon you be in good shape to try one of the above exercise fitness workouts.

Whatever you try, do it often and do it for at least thirty minutes to an hour several times per week to get the best results. Whether you’re looking to shrink your waistline, you’re looking to increase your endurance or you’re just looking to let off some steam, you’ll get great results as long as you stick with it.

If you’ve got guts enough to try P90X, you owe it to yourself to give it your all. There are many things to think about before taking such a huge journey. Here I’ve included some great tips that you can use to make sure that your 90 day journey will be a success.

Don’t Think About The Future
When going through P90X, it’s going to be tempting to try to think about the 90 days as a whole. This is a mistake. One of the best things that you could do during this program is to try to take everything one day at a time. Allowing yourself to get caught up in what you have to do tomorrow, the next day and next week will only make it harder to workout consistently. Try not to think about what’s coming up. You may decide to throw in the towel tomorrow morning. For today, just do the best you can.

Learn to Love Painkillers
The first two weeks or so of P90X will not feel good. Those first days are going to bring a lot of pain so you need to be prepared. Use ice, muscle creams and lots of painkillers. This point in the program is when you need to check your ego. Ignoring the pain will only make working out harder tomorrow.

Never Skip a Day. Period.
The people I’ve spoken to always ask me if it’s okay to skip the occaisonal workout while on P90X. You should only skip workouts after the habit of daily exercise has become permanent. In the first phase, however, don’t skip a workout if you can help it. These first few weeks of the program are crucial to building healthy habits. Think you can skip a workout and be okay? Think again, one missed workout could mean the end of the road.

Cheating Is Not Allowed. Period.
Just like cheating on your workouts, there are quite a few people who want to be able to cheat on their diets once a week. Normally I would advise a cheat day, but for P90X users the answer is no. P90X was designed with a specific nutritional plan in mind. It doesn’t make sense to trade a few days of good eating for the great physique you could have with P90X?

This is a little list of tips that can help you get through P90X. Keep in mind that P90X was designed to be intense, meaning it isn’t going to be for everyone.

You’re always busy. You don’t have enough time to go to the gym. You don’t even have time to stand up away from your computer. But you have a dream. A model’s body. A six pack abdominal glory. Want to get that dream?

There are some easy abdominal exercises that you can do even at home. Here are some home exercises that can be done fairly easily

• Crunches

Almost everyone can do this. This exercise focuses on the upper abs. It’s one of the simple but very effective exercises. To perform crunches, you should be lying on a flat surface with your hands in front of your chest.Contract your abdominal muscles and hold for a couple of seconds, then return to the lying postion. Proper crunches are in a continuous and controlled fashion. Concentrate on your abdominal muscles to pull your upper body up. Avoid using the neck or shoulders to push yourself up.The incorrect technique will cause more strains and even serious injury.

• Side Crunches

They are basically the same as regular crunches, except that the main focus is on the oblique muscles which are also called love handles. It also uses the same technique, only that you are crunching to either side of our abs. This would burn the sides of your abs.

• Lying Leg Lifts

This exercise focuses on the lower abs. with this kind of exercise, you are on the same position as with the crunches, you lie flat on your back and lift your legs six to twelve inches of the ground. This would exercise the muscles in the lower part of the abdomen. When doing leg lifts make sure your hands remain under your butt. It adds leverage and helps you get your feet elevated.

If you want to add more weight into the exercise, attach padded weights into your ankles. These weights can be purchased at the local sports store. If you don’t have weights use a can of food or fill some tube socks with rocks or a bag of sand to get your desired weight.

• V- Crunches

It’s almost like lying leg lifts except your chest is at a 45 degree angle starting out. Sit at the edge of a bench and reach back just enough to support yourself from completely lying on the bench. Once you’ve stabilized, bring your knees toward your chest. You would be creating a V motion. The base of the V would be your abs.

• Cat stretch

It’s the same with the movements made by a cat when they stretch their back. This basic action is easy and quick. Get down on the floor with your hands and knees, with muscles relaxed and looking straight ahead. Next, tighten your abdominal muscles while thrusting you back upward as far as you can.Maintain this position for five counts and then lower your back.

• Bicycle Crunch

To do this, start y lying flat on the floor. Put your hand beside your head then raise knees up to 45 degrees angle and them perform a pedaling motion like what you do when you ride the bicycle.

• Standing Side Bends

Standing side bends encourages the loss of fats in the oblique muscles. To start, stand up straight with the stomach sucked in, legs straight and hands on the sides. Simply lean the body from left to right being careful not to rotate the hips and while keeping body facing front. There is a variety of side bends, this is the torso twists. Instead of bending side to side twist or rotate the upper body from left to right while keeping the legs straight.

You can remove your flabby stomach and replace it with six pack abs, as long as you have disciplined and of course the will to do so.

It is not surprising that many individuals are now trying to lose weight and shed off extra calories. The previous holidays have put many in a disadvantage now as far as physical look and health are concerned because of the too-hard to resist delicious platters of holiday foods and glasses of caloric drinks.

So for the New Yearís resolution, it is more likely that most people are including diet and fitness program in the list. Due to the demand, this means many are enrolling in gym fitness centers while others are making a trip to fitness stores to get home fitness equipment.

To many, choosing to buy home fitness equipment is more enticing than enrolling in a gym center. It is a better choice indeed to many people who have difficulty juggling time between work and workout. It is also most ideal to people who just canít enroll in an exercise program particularly because the local gym center is out of the way or far from the house.

On the other hand, it also has a disadvantage. Just like most people ending up not going to the gym often after signing up due to many inconveniences, having exercise equipment at home for a self-workout regimen poses the same problem. Many acquire expensive equipment only to end up not using it at all. The machine just gets stored and collects dust pile, which is a shame because it should have been more of an advantage to you thatís why you bought it in the first place.

To avoid yourself from ending up in the same dilemma, check some pointers below to help maximize your home fitness equipment

Get the right equipment

One reason that leads most people to the situation mentioned above is due to the wrong choice of equipment. Therefore, it is important that you get the right one that answers your needs so that you can maximize its use and thus will be easier for you to achieve your goal of keeping fit all year round.

Your choice can be an elliptical trainer, stationary bike, or any cardio equipment that will not only make your heart healthy but your overall physical as well. Knowing the advantages of each of the equipment available in the market will help you decide which is the most ideal to bring home. Simple options for strength building include Iron Gym, Perfect Pushup, or Perfect Pullup

Position the equipment at the right area in your home.

Positioning the equipment at the right location in your home will help maximize its use. Where you position it is a factor as well that affects the frequency of its use. It must be stored where you have enough space to operate and use it, and the right ambiance and temperature so it doesnít get uncomfortable when you are working out.

Some place exercise equipment inside the bedroom especially if it is small enough to be accommodated. This gives them the advantage since they can be easily pulled out and get used at any time of the day. But if you have a number of machines, it is more advised that you have a nice room where you can put them all in and turn it into a mini gym.

And most important of all, have your goal and discipline.

Needless to say, discipline is the best weapon you can use to avoid leaving your equipment collecting dust in the corner. It is also the best passport towards achieving the desired weight and physical fitness.

As easy as it may seem, buying exercise equipment takes a lot of considerations. Let us look at the factors that really matter when making a purchase:

Determine your goal

The entire process of selecting which type of exercise equipment is right for you and how much do you need to spend for it relies on what goals you wish to accomplish along with your current fitness level. So before selecting one or limiting yourself to which treadmill or elliptical trainer is right for you, ask yourself, “What do I want to achieve?” Do you wish to improve your cardiovascular health? Do you want to develop strength? Do you wish to boost your energy? Such questions, when answered right away would lead you to identifying which type of equipment do you really need.

Set your Budget

The second, most important thing you need to determine is how much you are willing to spend on a particular type of home fitness equipment. Different types of exercise equipment have varying costs. A good treadmill costs from $1500 to $3500. An elliptical trainer ranges from $200 to $5000. A stationary bike ranges between $500 and $1000. The old adage, “you get what you pay for” still applies here so make sure that you balance between affordability, features and usability.

Note:
Not because you can use your credit card to purchase a thousand dollar elliptical trainer or a $3000 treadmill means that you can afford it. Study your financial position and know exactly how much you can spend on a certain purchase.

Space

Aside from your goal and budget, the 2 other equally important things to remember when purchasing exercise equipment are: to test the equipment and to measure the size of the equipment. While the former is somewhat automatic, the latter is often overlooked, simply because when you are at the store, it is hard to tell if the equipment will really fit in to your available space. So consider the space needed for the equipment. (This applies whether you have a home gym whole room or just a small space in the living room.) If both space and budget are an issue consider simple solutions like Perfect Pushup, Iron Gym, or Perfect Pullup.

Shop Around

A wise shopper does not settle in one store. Visit at least 2 stores to compare prices of the same equipment. It also pays to do your research online so that you are armed with the right information about a particular product you are eyeing at. Read product reviews whenever it is available.

Do not be deceived

People will do everything to make a sale. So if you see TV ads saying that you can lose several inches off your waist or lose several pounds after a week, don’t fall prey. Yes, they sound too good to be true, and they are. Quick-fix products with “before” and “after” testimonials may be too attractive but remember this: bodies do not change radically after a number of sessions. Because if it does, everyone who desires to have a six-pack abs or who wants to lose pounds upon pounds of weight should be contented right now.

Consider all the cost

Transportation, shipping, installation and other extra charges can pile up easily. So before buying one, make sure that you take note all these charges so that you will be ready for the total amount that you have to pay.

When you’re not busying yourself with top rated Wii games, what else can you do with your Wii? Why, you can exercise! Gone are the days when gamers are stereotyped as flabby or stocky; the new games for Wii have transformed video games into sweating activities, and it’s not just for your index finger and thumb.

Nintendo Wii game reviews have talked about its brilliant concept: using a balance board, an additional peripheral to one’s Wii, players can do yoga, strength training, aerobics, or play balance games. The balance board also measures the player’s weight, centre of balance, and even the body mass index. Nintendo Wii’s motion sensor also captures the player’s movement to determine if it’s similar to the one displayed on screen. With these innovative functions, Wii Fit can easily become one’s own personal trainer.

While many other games for the Wii focus on more traditional forms of video games – like RPG or survival horror — Wii Fit is a nice addition to one’s list of Wii games. It’s something the whole family can enjoy, and at the same time benefit from. It is especially a helpful tool in battling obesity, especially at this age where children find adventure inside the house rather than outside.

Still, Wii Fit is not for everyone. Wii games reviews will tell the hardcore gamer that it’s boring – of course, when compared to the gorgeous graphics and addictive gameplay that other games offer. But anyone who’s up for fun and fitness combined should not miss this. What it can do for you is a long list of possibilities, so long as you use it the right way.

The Wii offers a unique gameplaying experience, although many versions of the latest Wii games are also available on the PC platform. If you often ask yourself why is my computer so slow you may want to find out how to update Windows drivers and also find the best registry cleaner software for your pc.

Pole dancing used to be seen strictly as a form of men’s entertainment, but those days are quickly dwindling away. Pole dancing has become quite a popular form of exercise, as the art does indeed require quite a lot of balance and strength in the arms and legs. Women all around the world are seeing how beneficial a pole dancing routine can be to not only lose weight, but to gain muscle tone. So, if you’re looking for a fun workout that you can take at your own pace, then pole dancing may be for you!

Not only does this type of dancing grab the attention of some men, but it will also allow you to burn that fat off. Yes, you will definitely be able to get fit and shed those pounds. This doesn’t mean you have to jump into your car, drive to the nearest club and pay that bar fee. All you need to do is find a pole on the Internet and have it delivered to your home. Do you have an extra room inside your home? Perhaps an exercising room? If so, then this is where you should put the pole up. Pole dancing classes can help you gain that extra bit of confidence, so it could be worth trying a classroom atmosphere first.

If you would like to have a great effect to that dancing room, then you could always purchase a disco ball and put it up. You may even want to add a great stereo in there. Apart from getting fit this way, you may want to invite your husband in to watch you every now and then. Note: during this time, you may want to keep your “exercising room” door locked and make sure the children are in their bed safe and secure.

Not only can pole dancing fitness improve your physical health, but the confidence you can gain from it could last a lifetime. Plus, it’s a great way to break the rut of routine and jazz up your life a bit!
