Flattering Fashion For The Obese Woman Or Girl
No matter what your body type, whether or thin, fat, or somewhere in between, everyone is built differently and carry their weight differently. For this reason it’s important to know the best way to maximize your strong features while minimizing your weaker features. This can easily be done by wearing flattering fashion for the obese. Just keep a few simple rules in mind and you’ll look better no matter what your weight is.
1. Monochromatic outfits are great because they tend to elongate your body thus making you appear taller and slimmer. Instead of wearing one color on top and another on the bottom, which tends to make you look bigger and draws the eye right to your midsection, one color makes you look ‘whole’ instead of ‘halved’. While black is slimming, too much of it can be boring. When choosing your monochromatic look pretty much any color will work just pick a color that is flattering on you and matches your overall coloring.
2. If you want stripes make sure you stay away from horizontal and only go with vertical. While horizontal stripes will make you look rounder, vertical stripes can add the illusion of height and slimness. Also wearing higher heels can make you look taller and slimmer.
3. Stand up straight. Many overweight people want to ‘hide’. This is often a subconscious thought but it is reflected in your posture. If you slouch you make everything kind of meet in the middle. Not only do you look bigger, but you also look insecure (which you might be, but there’s no sense in advertising it). Standing tall will make you look slimmer overall and project a very sexy air of confidence.
4. Make sure your clothes fit properly. Stop trying to ‘hide’ your fat with baggy clothes. Not only is that not fooling anyone, it’s also making you look bigger. The same thing can be said of wearing clothes that are too small. This too will only accentuate the fact that you’re overweight. Find clothes that fit properly.
5. Work on non body fashion appearance such as jewelry, hair, and makeup. Make the most of what you’ve got. Have your hair attractively styled and wear accessories to draw the eye away from your torso. Just don’t overdo it on the big clunky jewelry, remember when it comes to jewelry, a little goes a long way.
Everyone has some body issue or another. No one is completely happy with every aspect of their body, but everyone can learn to make the most of what they’ve got (and cover up some of what they’ve got too much of!).
Just keep these tips for finding the most flattering fashion for the obese in mind the next time you go shopping. Even if you’re not 100% satisfied with your appearance, highlight what you’ve got. Just like everyone has one or two features they’re not satisfied with, everyone has one or two exceptional features that they should be showing off. So show off how exceptional you are!
